Who are Drukyul Delights' Local Experts?
Our local experts are native Bhutanese guides, drivers, and trip designers — many of them born and raised in the very valleys you'll visit. Each guide is licensed by the Tourism Council of Bhutan, fluent in English, and trained in the cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage of our country. They are not just guides but storytellers, sharing the soul of Bhutan with every step of your journey.
Why use Drukyul Delights' services instead of booking myself?
Bhutan is a unique destination where all international visitors must travel with a licensed tour operator. Booking with Drukyul Delights means you get a fully-curated, hassle-free experience — visas, permits, guides, accommodation, transport, and meals are all handled by us. We design tailored itineraries with insider access to monasteries, festivals, and remote villages that independent travelers simply can't reach.
What is included in a tour package?
Our standard tour packages include:
- Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and Bhutan visa
- All accommodation (3-star to luxury, based on package)
- Three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Licensed English-speaking guide throughout the trip
- Private vehicle with experienced driver
- All entrance fees to museums, dzongs, and monuments
- Bottled water and herbal tea during travel
Custom inclusions (helicopter rides, spa, festival access, etc.) are available on request.
What type of accommodation will I stay in?
We partner with a wide range of hand-picked properties — from cozy heritage farmstays and boutique 3-star hotels to 5-star luxury resorts like Amankora, Six Senses, and COMO Uma. Your accommodation depends on your package and preferences. All our partner hotels meet Bhutanese hospitality standards, offer warm service, and reflect traditional Bhutanese architecture and design.
Will you book my flight?
Yes — we can book your international and domestic flights with Drukair (Royal Bhutan Airlines) or Bhutan Airlines. These are the only two carriers servicing Bhutan, and seats fill up quickly during peak seasons (March–May and September–November). We recommend confirming your tour first and letting us arrange the flights to ensure smooth connections with your itinerary.
Do you have a flexible booking policy?
Absolutely. We understand that travel plans can change. Cancellations made 30+ days before arrival receive a full refund minus a small processing fee. Cancellations 15–29 days before incur a 25% charge, and within 14 days a 50% charge. In cases of emergencies or government-imposed restrictions, we always work with our guests to reschedule or refund fairly.
What should I pack for Bhutan?
Bhutan's weather varies dramatically by season and altitude. We recommend packing:
- Layered clothing (light shirts + warm fleece + waterproof jacket)
- Comfortable walking shoes and a pair of trekking boots
- Modest attire for visiting dzongs and temples (no shorts or sleeveless tops inside)
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat (UV is strong at altitude)
- Personal medication, basic first-aid, lip balm
- Universal power adapter (Type C, D, F)
We'll send a detailed packing list tailored to your travel dates and itinerary upon booking.
Can I choose my travel dates?
Yes — all our tours are fully customizable. Whether you want to travel during the famous Paro Tshechu festival, attend the Black-Necked Crane festival in Phobjikha, or simply prefer the quieter off-peak months, we tailor every itinerary to your schedule. Just share your preferred dates and interests, and we'll design a journey that fits perfectly.
