A Complete Guide to Booking a Tour
Please review these terms carefully before you book with Drukyul Delights.
The terms "we" and "our" refer to Drukyul Delights, a tour operator registered with the Royal Government of Bhutan Registration No. 1042672 and approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan, offering customized, luxury tours in Bhutan.
This guide explains our booking terms and cancellation policy. Please review these terms carefully prior to booking your trip. By booking your trip with us, you automatically agree to all of these conditions.
01 Booking Your Tour
Tour Pricing & Supplement Costs
Our prices are shown in US dollars on a twin or double-sharing room basis. These prices can be converted from US dollars based on the latest exchange rate and paid in AUD, CAD, EUR and GBP. We charge a single supplement to individual travellers who wish to book a single or private room on their trip.
Payment Schedule
Our tours are combined with luxury hotels and require a higher deposit to confirm their booking.
- At booking: 30% of the tour cost + 100% of the airfare (for ticket issuance).
- 45 days before arrival: the final 70% of the tour cost.
- At booking: 50% of the tour cost + 100% of the airfare.
- One week before departure: the remaining 50% of the tour cost.
02 Before the Tour
Travel Documents
You must have a passport with at least six months of validity from your date of departure from Bhutan. We will take care of your Bhutan visa and permits. You are entirely responsible for securing transit visas and permits for other countries you need to travel to, or that you are entering from. We are not liable for any costs that result from your failure to secure proper travel documents.
Airfare
Our tour prices do not include international or domestic airfare unless the inclusions state it. When we arrange flights for you, we act as a sales agent for the airline, and you will be governed by the airline's terms and conditions. We are not responsible for changes in airfare, itineraries, or flight timings.
Travel Insurance
The cost of the tour does not include any insurance coverage. You are required to get separate coverage from your home country before departure. A suitable insurance policy should provide adequate cover for cancellation, loss, damage, injury, or delay. We strongly recommend that your coverage includes an emergency helicopter airlift if you are participating in a high-altitude trek.
Young Travellers
Travellers under 18 years old must be accompanied by elders or guardians throughout the trip. Each adult on a booking with a minor is responsible for the behaviour and wellbeing of the minor.
03 During the Tour
Changes by the Client & Changes by the Company
You must confirm any changes to the original booking in writing. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate changes and additional requests; however, their availability cannot be guaranteed. You must bear any cost or expenses arising from the changes. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes in the itinerary of any trip in an unexpected event, and we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible.
Public Holidays
During local or national holidays, special events, and religious occasions, certain facilities such as museums, restaurants, hotels, and shopping may be limited or unavailable. Alternatives will be offered whenever possible.
During national holidays or special events, certain facilities such as museums and shopping may be limited or remain unavailable. If your travel dates aren't flexible, we will inform you of the details at the time of crafting your travel ideas, and other alternatives will be offered.
However, despite our discussion, if your travel plan remains the same, then Drukyul Delights cannot be held liable for any closures, necessary itinerary changes, or curtails for any reason after that.
Gratuities & External Services
Gratuities for your tour guide, driver, and trekking crew are not included in the trip cost. These are discretionary. We may recommend the services of external companies if you request them. We do not guarantee the services provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for any injury or costs arising from inadequate services provided by any third party.
Limitation of Liability
During our trips, certain risks may arise beyond our control. These risks include the dangers of travelling in undeveloped areas, travel by automobile, forces of nature, and accidents in remote regions. We take measures for your safety and comfort. We are not responsible for such risks and dangers that may arise beyond our control.
04 Our Cancellation Policy
Cancelling Your Tour
You may cancel your booking by providing written notice to Drukyul Delights. We incur expenses in cancelling your travel arrangements, so we will apply cancellation charges. The fee is determined by the date on which we receive the cancellation request.
You agree to bear any bank charges or fees incurred while we transfer the refund amounts. Each luxury hotel and airline has its own cancellation policy — please check with us if you have any questions on their refund policy.
